When will Retitle be released?
There’s no release date yet. Development builds are running on our Macs, and we’ll share a date once on-device OCR is ready. Leave your email with Notify me and we’ll send you one message when it ships.
How much will Retitle cost?
Retitle will be a paid app. Pricing will be announced at launch. Our paid Mac apps are bought once per major version, with no subscription; see Licensing.
Can I try a development build?
Not yet. When there’s a build ready for testing, we’ll say so on this page. For anything else, open a ticket.

Formats, Macs and switching from SUBtools.
Which subtitle formats will Retitle handle?
SRT, SSA/ASS and WebVTT for editing and converting. Blu-ray PGS and DVD VobSub image subtitles already open in the development build; turning them into text with on-device OCR is planned.
Which Macs will it run on?
Macs with Apple silicon, running macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
I use SUBtools. Will Retitle open my files?
Yes: Retitle opens standard SRT, SSA/ASS and WebVTT files as they are. It’s a new app, written from scratch for Apple silicon, and shares no code with SUBtools.
